Our DHT blocking shampoo is formulated with saw palmetto - a proven DHT blocker that can reduce levels of the hormone in the scalp. The shampoo also contains argan oil, iron and vitamin B3. Wash your hair once daily, and leave in for 60–90 seconds before rinsing.
Biotin (also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H) is a vitamin that promotes healthy and stronger hair. One tablet per day, whenever suits you.
Topical solution that increases blood flow and oxygen in vessels, which reactivates and revitalises shrunken hair follicles. Apply 1 ml (10 pumps) directly onto the scalp twice daily. Make sure that the scalp is dry before applying.
Finasteride is a prescription drug used to treat hair loss, which works by blocking DHT, the hormone responsible for male-pattern hair loss. Set a reminder and take one tablet per day, anytime.

Male pattern hair loss is caused by a bi-product of testosterone called DHT. At some point in most men’s lives, DHT starts to shrink hair follicles, which eventually die off one by one, leading to progressive hair loss.
Finasteride helps to block the transformation of testosterone into DHT and Minoxidil improves blood flow to the scalp. This dual-action revitalises hair follicles and allows Finasteride to reach your hair follicles more efficiently.

Whilst results vary, many men will begin to see the initial effects of their treatment from about 6 months onwards. With consistent application, optimal results will be most noticeable after a year. Initially, the Minoxidil can cause further shedding which removes thinner hair and makes room for thicker hair to take its place but this settles down over a few months with continued usage.

Minoxidil 5% cutaneous solution is a medicine for topical application to the scalp that stimulates hair growth in men aged 18-65 years with male-pattern hair loss (androgetic alopecia) when applied to the skin. For more information please refer to the patient information leaflet.
As with all medications, there is always a small risk of side effects. These medications are approved and licensed however by the licensing authority - MHRA, which means they are considered safe and effective for their intended use. Finasteride is well studied, having been available since the 1990s to treat hair loss and benign prostatic hypertrophy. Finasteride’s side effect profile is very favourable, with up to 4% of people reporting possible related side effects. These side effects tend to happen in the first six months of taking the medication and the vast majority resolve on cessation of Finasteride.

Sons Finasteride is regulated by the MHRA, you can find the public assessment report here.
Whilst it is not proven to cause birth defects, Sons recommends not taking Finasteride whilst trying to conceive or until the sex organs are formed 12 weeks into a pregnancy - this is out of an abundance of caution. Similarly, as it cannot be prevented from blood products being transfused to pregnant women, British blood transfusion guidelines stipulate that you must not donate blood while taking Finasteride or for four weeks after stopping Finasteride. It takes some time for changes to become visible. Some men will shed more fine hairs than normal, but this is only temporary.
