What is DHT blocking shampoo?

DHT blocking shampoo, as the name suggests, blocks or prevents the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT for short),  (otherwise known as dihydrotestosterone) an internal androgen hormone that men produce naturally. A sensitivity to DHT is the main reason for men losing their hair. DHT clings to receptors and hair follicles in your scalp causing a process called miniaturisation, which causes hair thinning and eventual hair loss. This process doesn’t happen overnight, but over a long period of time, so it’s important to try and notice the signs of balding early to prevent more developed damage.

How it works

Even though most men will experience the effects of DHT, don’t be disheartened, there are plenty of effective treatments available. Our DHT blocking shampoo is a brilliant way to promote hair quality and growth, which can  slow balding. It contains a number of essential oils and vitamins (including argon oil and vitamin B3),which help to improve the appearance and health of your existing hair. Our shampoo also contains saw palmetto - the active ingredient which can help to block the production of DHT.

Consistent use of our DHT Blocking Shampoo will keep the future of your hair secure, as well as solving thinning problems. DHT blocking products are generally seen as the most effective method we have for stopping male hair loss.

How to use it

When you choose your plan, we’ll tailor a treatment perfectly suited to your hair. When using the shampoo, it’s essential to apply directly to your scalp on a regular and consistent basis. Make sure you wet your hair before and use a generous amount of shampoo in order to cover your entire scalp. Leave the shampoo in your hair for between 60-90 seconds and wash it out thoroughly.

Do DHT blocking shampoos really work?

Whilst there aren’t any shampoos which are scientifically proven to treat hair loss on their own, shampoos can help to improve the appearance of your hair and the DHT-blocking properties of Saw Palmetto can impact DHT levels.

It’s important to make sure that any DHT blocking shampoo you invest in is linked to medically reputable producers such as Sons.

There are many treatments out there that claim to treat hair loss without evidence to support these claims. DHT blocking shampoos alone will not cure hair loss, however, used in combination with scientifically proven treatments such as Finasteride and Minoxidil, they can contribute to the overall quality and quantity of your hair.

DHT blocking shampoos rarely have any side effects and are considered safe to use. Get in touch with us today to find a treatment plan perfectly suited to your situation. As you can see, there’s hope for your hair.
