FAQs

  • Our oral tablet helps to block the production of the hormone DHT.

Men that experience male pattern hair loss have a sensitivity to the hormone DHT. This hormone causes your hair follicles to shrink which leads to your hair strands being cut off from the nutrients in your blood and eventually falling out of the scalp.

  • You need to take oral tablet once a day as part of your normal routine. We recommend attaching this to a normal day to day activity, such as brushing your teeth or having breakfast to avoid missing any doses.

  • You should use this oral tablet if you’re looking for a hair loss treatment that is backed by science. Our oral tablet is one of two FDA-approved medications for effectively treating male pattern hair loss. If you’re worried that your hair has receded past the early stages, you should combine your oral tablet use with Minoxidil.

  • As with all medications, there is always a small risk of side effects. These medications are approved and licensed however by the licensing authority - MHRA, which means they are considered safe and effective for their intended use. The Oral Tablet is well studied, having been available since the 1990s to treat hair loss and benign prostatic hypertrophy. The Oral Tablet’s side effect profile is very favourable, with up to 4% of people reporting possible related side effects. These side effects tend to happen in the first six months of taking the medication and the vast majority resolve on cessation of the oral tablet.

You can read more about the oral tablet side effects here.

Please note, you must always read the complete list of side effects in the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) enclosed with your medication before taking it for the first time and if you have any questions please reach out to medical@sons.co.uk
