Hair loss in men is common - and treatable

Most male hair loss is caused by androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness. In people who are genetically predisposed, the hormone DHT will gradually shrink your hair follicles, leading to thinner hair and eventual hair loss.

The good news is that it's one of the most treatable forms of hair loss. Combination therapy, using a DHT-blocking treatment alongside Minoxidil, has been clinically proven to stop hair loss for 94% of men.

Treatment you can trust.

Sons isn't just supplements and shampoo. It's clinically proven, prescription-grade treatment, reviewed by a UK-registered prescriber and delivered straight to your door.

DHT blocker

DHT blockers work by blocking the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT, the hormone byproduct responsible for shrinking hair follicles in male pattern hair loss.

  • Blocks DHT at the source, helping stop further follicle shrinkage
  • Oral tablet, taken once a day
  • Works best combined with Minoxidil
  • Prescribed by a UK-registered prescriber, reviewed monthly

Minoxidil

Minoxidil is applied directly to the scalp, where it widens blood vessels and improves blood flow to hair follicles.

  • Clinically proven to stimulate new hair growth
  • Available as a topical spray
  • Works best combined with a DHT blocker
  • Discreet daily application, no GP needed

Used together, a DHT blocker and Minoxidil form the most clinically supported combination therapy currently available for male pattern hair loss (NLM, 2015). Your prescriber will confirm which treatments are suitable for you as part of your consultation.

About male hair loss

What causes male pattern hair loss?
Most male hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, driven by hair follicles' sensitivity to DHT, a hormone byproduct. Over time, DHT causes follicles to shrink and produce thinner, weaker hair. It's largely genetic and becomes more common with age. Other causes exist and aren't all treatable in the same way, so it's worth confirming the cause with a doctor before starting treatment.
How common is male hair loss?
Very common. Some degree of hair thinning affects a large proportion of men as they get older, and many start noticing it from their twenties onwards.
How does Sons work?
You answer a few questions online, and a UK-registered clinician reviews your case, usually within hours. If treatment is right for you, it's delivered in discreet packaging, and your prescriber and the Customer Care team follow up as your treatment progresses.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees. Pause or cancel from your account whenever you like.
