Sons Steps: A 'how to' guide for using our treatment

2-minute read

Treating your hair loss doesn’t have to be complicated. Sons treatments offer a fuss-free option for busy men worried about their receding hairline. Want to know how our hair loss treatment works? Here’s our rundown on how to use our treatment.

Start a consultation

First things first - book a consultation with one of our medical experts. You’ll have an online evaluation with a Sons medical physician online to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your hair. One method of evaluation is using the Norwood Scale - a quick way to determine what stage of the hair loss process you’re at. Whether you’re at stage three or stage six, figuring out where you’re at is crucial for nailing your treatment.

The first few months

Whether you have our duo plan for mild hair loss or the full works plan for moderate hair loss, the key to success is always the same - consistency. Our plans are intended for daily use, so keeping up that consistency is essential if you want the treatment to be successful.

We’ve intentionally made our treatment plans as easy as possible to consume. On the first day of your treatment, you’ll receive a discreet monthly box containing a variety of medications. The DHT-blocking shampoo should be massaged into your scalp for 60-90 seconds every day during your regular shower routine. If you have minoxidil as part of your plan, you should apply the solution to your scalp twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening (make sure your hair is dry first). Finasteride and biotin tablets are even easier to take - simply consume orally every day alongside another part of your daily routine. Setting up an alarm every day or lining up your intake with other parts of your daily routine will help you stay on track with your treatment in the first few months.

Six months

After six months, you may begin to notice some positive visual changes to your hairline, in others however it can take longer. However, now you’re on the right road, it’s essential to keep up the momentum and keep an eye on your progress. A great way of recording your progress is by regularly photographing your hairline. If you take some pictures in a bright room every week, you’ll have clear, concrete evidence that the treatment is working its magic.

Hitting the year mark is a huge step in your fight against hair loss and will hopefully provide you with some satisfying results. Remember - consistency and patience are crucial part of our treatment plans, so always try to weave your intake in with other parts of your routine.
