There’s no doubt about it - dealing with hair loss is always difficult. Forming good habits and getting into a consistent groove every day is key for getting your hairline back on track, as well as improving your overall health. If you’re ready to commit to promoting hair growth on top of your Sons treatment, here are five of our top daily tips.

A balanced diet

To put it simply - hair follicles need to be supplied a range of healthy nutrients in order to thrive. If you’re not eating a balanced diet packed with healthy nutrients and vitamins, you can’t expect your hair to flourish. Make sure your breakfast, lunch and dinner is packed with a variety of vegetables, wholegrain, nuts, seeds and oily fish to give yourself the best chance of promoting your hair growth. As hair is mainly made up of a protein called keratin, adding some protein into your diet should also be a priority.

Hydration

Alongside a healthy diet, hydration throughout the day is crucial for promoting hair loss. The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommend that an adult should be drinking between 2.7 and 3.7 litres of water every day. In terms of hair loss, not drinking this required amount of water can lead to brittle and dry hair that tends to snap or break much more easily. With 60% of the body made up of water, it’s no surprise that your hair can be affected by a lack of hydration.

Exercise

Everybody’s a couch potato now and again, but too much time spent sitting down can have a negative impact on the health of your hair. Regular exercise improves blood circulation, keeps your heart healthy and ensures that your hair follicles get the necessary amount of nutrients. Struggling to find the time to fit in a workout? We recommend walking, running or cycling to work. Daily exercise can also lower your stress levels, which may help to promote hair growth.

Stop bad habits

Serious about helping your hair grow? Stop those bad habits. Excessive smoking or drinking is bad for your overall health, let alone hair loss. Studies have shown that alcohol can lead to nutrient deficiencies, which are key for keeping hair follicles healthy and strong. As for smoking, plenty of studies have discovered deep connections between tobacco and hair loss, with nicotine disrupting the hair growth cycle. What better excuse for detaching yourself from those unhealthy daily habits?

Consistent supplementation

On top of a healthy diet and exercise, signing up for a hair loss treatment plan could be the best decision you make for your hair. Our full works treatment plan contains Finasteride, Minoxidil, Biotin and DHT-blocking shampoo, which work symbiotically to stop your hair loss from getting worse. Finasteride and Minoxidil are medical products that are used to treat hair loss, while Biotin and our DHT-blocking shampoo are supplements that have the potential to improve your hair quality. The key to success is simple - consistency. If you’re regularly forgetting to take your doses, try to align your consumption with other daily habits such as eating lunch or brushing your teeth.

Improving your hair growth is never guaranteed, but mixing all of these habits into a consistent daily routine will give you the best chance of success. If you’re interested in giving your hair a big boost, take part in one of our free online hair loss consultations here.
