Boost Your Hair Health: Essential Vitamins for Growth

2-minute read

Whether you’re fighting hair loss or just want your hair to be healthier, thicker and voluminous, vitamins are a brilliant way to enhance quality and stimulate growth. Below we’ve gathered together the best vitamins for hair growth, some of which can be found in the new Sons Hair Growth Complex supplement.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C plays a crucial role in maintaining physical health in areas all over the body, including protecting cells and maintaining their health. Unsurprisingly then, Vitamin C is also vital for growing a healthy head of hair, with a deficiency leading to dry and brittle strands. The vitamin helps sustain capillaries, which are essential for supplying hair follicles with blood and nutrients.

You can find Vitamin C in various hair growth supplements, as well as widely available foods such as strawberries, blackcurrants, and citrus fruits. Any well-balanced diet will have vitamin C as a core nutrient, and that’s all the better for your hair.

Vitamin H (Biotin)

Vitamin H, otherwise known as Biotin, is often included in hair loss treatment plans as a supplement in its own right, which is a testament to the vitamin’s scientifically proven ability to enhance hair quality. Biotin does this by enhancing the infrastructure of keratin within the body, a protein that is an essential building block of hair, skin and nails.

Without sufficient keratin, hair quality can dip rapidly. Increasing the amount of Biotin in your body will undoubtedly help to enhance the quality of your hair, laying the perfect foundation for growth in the future too.

Collagen

Follicles are at the root of any successful hair growth plan. If they’re damaged, the hair growth cycle can be disrupted, and hair simply won’t grow. Collagen - a protein often found in fish - is one of the ingredients that can significantly impact hair growth, thanks to its antioxidant properties and ability to strengthen hair follicles.

While the body creates collagen independently, its production can slow over the years, which makes supplementation a sound choice. On top of these supplements, plenty of food items contain collagen too, including sardines, berries and broccoli.

Magnesium

The hair growth cycle is a natural process that includes four stages: anagen, catagen, telogen and exogen. The anagen phase (also called the growing stage) is unsurprisingly critical for new hair growth.

In sufficient amounts, the mineral Magnesium helps regulate the entire cycle and promote growth in this first stage. Hair follicles therefore become stimulated and fortified thanks to Magnesium, and a deficiency can lead to impaired follicle growth and thinning hair strands. Consuming Magnesium is therefore highly suggested when pursuing hair growth and can be found in several foods, such as avocados, nuts and tofu.

Enhancing hair health with supplements

The above ingredients are among the best vitamins for hair growth. However, if you’re interested in tackling hair loss, too, it’s always beneficial to go through an appropriate consultation process.
