The ingredients in our brain supplement explained

When push comes to shove, that extra 10% can make all the difference. Our Brain Health Supplement is formulated with a variety of all-natural ingredients that could give your cognitive function the boost it needs to perform at the highest level. To help you get to grips with our supplement, we’ve dug deeper into each ingredient.

L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that is actually produced naturally within your body. If you’re ever feeling stressed or anxious, the production of L-Tyrosine can lower, which in turn reduces the efficiency of your cognition. By adding more L-Tyrosine to your body, studies have found that you can enhance your working memory during difficult tasks, as well as improving cognitive flexibility.

Korean Ginseng

Used for medicinal purposes thousands of years ago, Korean Ginseng is still used in Chinese medicine to this day. Ginseng itself is actually the root of a plant, which can take many different forms depending on the length of its growth. When using Korean Ginseng, some studies have suggested that the compounds may enhance immune responses, on top of lowering blood sugar. Research has also found that Ginseng may have calming effects, as well as improved mental fatigue.

Ashwagandha

Another ingredient that has been used for thousands of years in various civilisations, Ashwagandha is a herb that has often been used in Ayurvedic medicine. Some studies have found that the herb may be beneficial for long-term brain health, as it contains withanolides that shield the brain from oxidative stress.

Bacopa Monnieri

Alongside Ashwagandha, Bacopa Monnieri is a herb found all over the world and used in Ayurvedic medicine. With a mix of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, the herb has been found by some studies to have some beneficial effects on the brain after consumption.

Thiamine

Known as vitamin B1, Thiamine has a wide range of uses across the world and can be beneficial for both the body and the brain. Thiamine deficiency has been shown to lead to a variety of brain disorders (albeit very rarely), so it’s important to not let them get too low. This is because Thiamine helps enzymes to construct vital components for day to day brain function.

Choline

While the essential nutrient Choline can be created naturally within the body, most of us need to consume enough Choline through our diet in order to function effectively. The nutrient is essential because the body uses it to create a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This crucial neurotransmitter within the brain is involved with attention, memory and motor function.

Guarana

Found deep within the Amazon rainforest, the seeds and fruits of Guarana are commonly found within nutritional supplements in modern times. As with a variety of vegetables, fruits and plants, the plant has been found to have a range of antioxidant properties. On top of that, Guarana also contains caffeine, which can enhance your cognitive performance.

Lion’s Mane

Yamabushitake, otherwise known as Lion’s Mane, is a variety of mushroom that is often used within Asian and Indian medicine. Research on the fungus’ medicinal benefits is still being conducted, but many have found some unique properties. Lion’s Mane contains two compounds, hericenones and erinacines, which may hold neurotrophic properties. This means that they could bolster the growth and survival of neurons within the brain.

L-Taurine

Finally, L-Taurine - the second amino acid found in our Brain Health supplement - plays a variety of crucial roles within your brain and body. As with many of our ingredients, L-Taurine is actually produced naturally by the body in small amounts. However, supplementation has the potential to lower your risk of developing diseases, as well as enhancing physical performance.
